Louisiana Contractor Continuing Education Additional information
Louisiana Residential Building Contractors: In conjunction with our sister company, AEI, our online continuing education classes are approved to fulfill the continuing education requirements.
- Residential Building Contractors are required to complete a minimum of 6 Hours of Continuing Education every year no later than December 31st.
- If a Residential Building Contractor also holds a valid, current commercial license in the major classifications of: building construction; highway, street and bridge construction; heavy construction; or municipal and public works construction, the six- hour requirement is considered to have been met.
- The LSLBC does not approve individual courses, just the continuing education providers themselves. You will not see LSLBC approval numbers with the course descriptions.

Are you approved by the state of Louisiana?
Yes. Our sister company, American Electrical Institute (AEI) is approved by the LA State Licensing Board for Contractors. You can view our approval on the LSLBC website by clicking here.
Do you report my results to the LA State Licensing Board for Contractors?
No. The residential building contractor shall maintain a copy of a certificate of completion for five years and make available to the board upon request.
Do you offer any continuing education training that is not online?
We offer online continuing education to renew your Louisiana license. We do not offer any classroom continuing education courses for LA contractors. We find that most students prefer to complete their continuing education online on their computer, smartphone, or tablet.
Do you provide me with a certificate of completion when I finish your continuing education course?
Yes, all graduates of our Louisiana contractor continuing education course will receive a certificate of completion. Certificates will be available in the course after completion.
Do you renew my Louisiana license for me?
No. Completing your continuing education credits does not complete the renewal of your license. Once you have completed all of your required continuing education, you must pay the LA State Licensing Board for Contractors the license renewal fees. We cannot do that for you.
Can I take this course on my phone?
Yes, our courses are mobile-compatible. You can finish your continuing education with ease using your phone, tablet, or computer.
