Navigating Insurance for the Construction Professional aims to help general contractors understand the various types of insurance as well as key insurance terms. The course aims to assist general contractors in the assessment of the risks of loss that their businesses face. Next, the course embarks on an in-depth exploration of property insurance, general liability insurance, business owner’s policies, business vehicle insurance, builder’s risk insurance, workers compensation insurance, and cyber insurance. Methods of mitigating risks to help drive down insurance costs for contractors are explored. The course includes explanations of instances when having the proper insurance saved contractors from financial ruin, in order to help general contractors understand the severity of the risks that their businesses may face and the impact of those risks may impose.
