Course Description
This course will explore the issue of climate change, global warming, and the importance of “Green Initiatives.” We will consider the definition of a carbon footprint and gain an understanding of the issue of our dependence on fossil fuels. The course will also explore what we, as general contractors, can do to employ renewable energy alternatives effectively. Subjects covered will be how we, as builders, can build “Energy Star” homes and the various systems we can install to improve the overall efficiency of what we build. Among the systems to consider will be heating and cooling systems, water heating systems, residential solar systems, and other additional efficient items.
