Mike Moran
Mike has been a licensed North Carolina general contractor for over 30 years and has remained active in the industry by building homes and investing in rental real estate. Mike is also a licensed NC Home Inspector and a licensed NC Real Estate Agent. He currently owns and operates Banister to Beam Inc, a home inspection and consulting company. When not working Mike enjoys golf, travel, family time, and spending time at his vacation home in Holden Beach, NC. Mike and his wife Susan live in Greensboro, NC.
Tyler Woodward
Tyler earned a B.S. Industrial Technology (Construction Management) from Appalachian State University and a B.S. Physics from East Carolina University. He acquired his NCGCL at the age of 19 and started a successful career of building houses. Tyler spent approximately one year in the large commercial management side of the industry. These days he enjoys smaller, more hands on, remodeling jobs. His favorite hobby right now it is pickle ball.
Glen Stancik
Glen began a career in architecture and construction studying architecture at the NCSU School of Design. After being licensed as a general contractor in North Carolina in 1978, he began a design/build company for which he has served as CEO for over forty years, specializing in residential, ecclesiastical, medical, light commercial, and disaster relief construction. His teaching experience includes theatrical design and construction at UNC – Chapel Hill and adjunct lecturer at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. In his free time, Glen likes international travel. He also likes to work on personal home construction projects and sometimes he enjoys doing a specialized job on one of his professional projects.
Phil Lucas
Phil has a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering Construction from North Carolina State University. He has over 35 years of experience in Engineering, Construction, and Project Management. He has held a NC General Contractors license since 2003. He is a native of North Carolina and resides in Raleigh with his wife Susan and they are both big college football, basketball and baseball fans. They are also enthusiastic fans of Raleigh’s NHL, Carolina Hurricanes.
David L. Smith
David is currently a custom residential builder and has been for over thirty years. During his building career he also served as lead instructor for the Light Construction Program at Cape Fear Community College for twenty-three years. He is a member of the Wilmington Cape-Fear Home Builders Association and has served on numerous committees for this association. He is a past president of this association and presently serves on its board of directors. He is a member of the North Carolina Building Code Council, chairs the Residential Committee for the Council and sits on several other committees for the Council. He has worked closely with builders, building inspectors and other professionals throughout the State on these various committees, to solve building code concerns.
Emilee P. Blount
Emilee is the Assistant Director of Engineering for the US Forest Service. Emilee has 27 years with the federal government and has worked for the Air Force as well as the Defense Logistics Agency. She spent several years with the Washington Headquarters Services overseeing the Pentagon Renovation program. Ms. Blount is a graduate of NC State with a BS in civil engineering, a registered professional engineer and a licensed general contractor. Emilee enjoys kayaking and riding motorcycles across our beautiful state.
Stuart Zitin
Stuart is the sole proprietor of Building for Life, L.L.C., a North Carolina Licensed General Contractor with a limited license in the Building classification since 1995. He has built several new homes and completed numerous additions, remodels, and renovations, as well as multiple commercial trim projects. He is currently developing four acres in Asheville for 18 Green Built/Energy Star homes. Stuart has been married for 38 years to Maureen with daughter Rachel, 33, son Ari, 27, and 7-year-old dog, Raina, with whom he walks in the woods an hour every day.
Joseph Fitzgerald
Joseph has over 25 years of experience in residential and commercial construction. He has worked in many states across the United States and learned about building practices in the EU. I currently live in Western NC with my family. We enjoy spending time on the rivers rafting and swimming.
Clark Garris
Clark has been in the construction industry on both the commercial side (constructing parking garages, missile magazines and student housing) and the residential side (performing home repairs, home additions and building customs homes) for over 3 decades. He has also worked with Habitat for Humanity. Clark has a passion for his family and getting out on deep water hearing the words: “Fish On”.
