- Step 3: Complete the on-demand online elective courses and attend the webinar. Please note: On-demand online courses must be completed within 30 days of your start date.

Follow these steps to get your license renewed:
- Purchase and complete 6 hours of elective courses.
- Then take the 2-hour 2023 Mandatory Course through NCGCTraining
- Submit your license renewal to the NCLBGC with your elective certificates from PDH Academy, and your mandatory certificate from NCGCTraining.

How do these courses work?
To complete one of our online courses, you just need to follow these simple steps:
- Purchase the courses that you would like to take.
- Check your email for your receipt and confirmation of your enrollment in the courses.
- Complete your courses online and receive your certificate of completion. Please note: This course must be completed within 30 days of your start date.
When do I need to take my continuing education?
Continuing education classes can be offered from January 1 until November 30. Providers are not allowed to offer CE classes during the month of December.
What is included in the 6 hour elective renewal bundle?
You can create your own online elective bundle by choosing any combination of our courses that add up to 6 hours.
What if I want to take the NCLBGC Mandatory Course online?
You can register here, starting January 1, 2023, to get your 2-hour Mandatory Course through NCLBGC’s only approved online provider. Use coupon code NCGC0077 to save $20 at checkout.
Do you report my continuing education hours to the NCLBGC?
Yes. Our customer service team at PDH Academy will report your completed continuing education hours to the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors.
You will receive a certificate of completion after class that you should maintain for your records.
How do I renew my contractor’s license?
All contractor licenses expire on December 31 of each year. Licenses can be renewed by filing an application for renewal with the Board (found here). You must complete 8 hours of continuing education before November 30th in order to renew your license.
